Discover Yorkstone Paving: A Beautiful Victorian Garden Design
We caught up with Victoria, a wife and mother who shares her beautiful home and garden on Instagram and TikTok. Victoria recently chose our Yorkstone Paving to transform her stunning garden this summer. As the owner of a period property, it was important to Victoria to find paving that looked like it had been there for years and matched the traditional stone of the farmhouse. She shares her beautiful Victorian garden design journey with us below...
Can you tell us a little about your home and garden and your journey to get where you are?
We moved to the house just over 5 years ago. It is a Victorian farmhouse but was not in the best condition when we moved in. The house needed lots of cosmetic TLC, and the garden was completely overgrown with brambles, the front of the house had just a tarmac patio and looked a bit of an eye sore. We’ve had to do renovations bit by bit, and the garden has taken the most amount of time, as it takes so long for things to establish, but we are slowly getting there. It was important for us to install features that would be in keeping with the period of the property.
What was the brief for your new garden design?
The brief for the patio was something that looked like it had been here for as long as the house. An aged Yorkstone effect, to match the colours of the stone of the house. The key was for it to be low maintenance and not too difficult to install as we were doing it ourselves.
What Product did you choose and why?
It was the Yorkstone paving slab. And we were most drawn to them because they matched the colour and style of the stone of the house.
What has your experience of working with Westminster Stone been like?
We’ve had a wonderful experience with Westminster Stone. When we were originally researching the different kinds of stone and their effects, the team were really helpful about the types of stone on offer. During the installation stage, we had lots of questions about the pattern, grout and concrete to use, their helpful team put us in touch with their own on-site advisors to advise us. And finally just the quality of the product, we had looked around for some time to find the perfect look and the product has not let us down and looks wonderful now it’s in and finished.
