2011 sees another milestone in Westminster Stone's history. We are now celebrating our 25th anniversary. It certainly went quickly!

In 1989 we moved to our present 8 acre site on the English Welsh border near the market town of Ellesmere, Shropshire, from where business has grown from strength to strength

Westminster Stone is a family business, which was founded by Paul & Jo Clifford. Their eldest son John was a Director and part time consultant. In 1997 John joined the family business as the Commercial Director, and has been the Managing Director since Paul's retirement in 2005. John's passion and expertise lies in developing product ranges that can be accurately and authentically reproduced, and the current product line-up is second to none worldwide.

Under John's direct leadership, Westminster Stone began product development and making its own moulds from its own sourced originals, rather than the producuts that had previously been made under licence to Town & Country Paving who ceased trading several years ago. And the rest is history....!

The flagstone and tile range is now accepted as the benchmark by which all other reproduction paving is measured in the UK. The flags, bricks and tiles are now widely sought for interior flooring products too, where are more traditional ambience is sought.

The list of commercial projects also goes on and on; the number of pubs, restaurants and hotels that feature Westminster Stone Floors in their most heavily trafficked areas is now too long to list! (We do case study one in our brochure; The Lion Quays, near Oswestry, who have used over 5000 square metres of several different Westminster Stone paving and flooring products in and around their Hotel, Restaurant, Bar & Health Spa).

Our business profile has changed considerably during the past five years; it's had to; as well as supplying top quality Westminster Stone paving materials to a select number of stockists throughout the UK, we have also opened our gates to the public and trade as a factory outlet, and we now supply materials direct in locations we don't have a representative stockist. Improved nationwide delivery services, and an ecommerce on line website have also made this much easier. We also act as the main local stockist in the Shropshire, Cheshire, North & Mid Wales areas, and have most of our reproduction and natural stone range on display in garden or room settings.

Westminster Stone have also identified the need to market top quality imported stone products, and offer our Livingstone Paving Range: Indian Sandstone, Aged Sandstone, Limestone, Slate, Travertine, Granite and Marble, as well as a comprehensive range of Decorative Stone, Chippings and Aggregates. Because these additional natural products are not available through Westminster Stone stockists, they are featured on the ecommerce site www.pavingandflooring.com
